History:The only child of two fairly well off people, Carolyn Thanet was somewhat spoiled growing up. All she had to do was bat her pretty eyelashes at her father and she could get anything she wanted. She had always had a way with words, seeming to know just what word would fit in almost every situation, and having quite the extensive vocabulary. Writing was her outlet, she used it to say what she could not tell her parents: that she did not want to be a model, the way her mother was. Her photography, too, was a way for Carolyn Thanet to see the world the way she wanted to. She didn’t have to see in black and white with her pictures. She could see just the surface of things, and leave it at that.
It was partially her mother’s occupation that led to her eating disorder, and it was partially her fascination with bones. Cookie had always been slim, lithe, and elegent, but being a perfectionist and having a rather unhealthy obsession led her to want to be made out of bones. For her, that was beauty. Bones were what made people, they should be shown to their fullest extent. She began working out obsessivly, sometimes sneaking off to the gym around the corner in the middle of the night. She gradually stopped eating, progressing from three meals a day, to two, to one, to the equivalent of an apple every day. She hid her disorder fairly well, and nobody noticed until one of her exams, in May of her freshman year. She was eighteen at the time, and her system shut down.
Carolyn Thanet was then hospitilized, diagnosed with anorexia, and forced to see several therapists daily. After a year off of school and in the hospital, her doctors saw it fit that she could teturn to school, so long as somebody made sure that she was not in a single room, and that she went to every meal and ate at least sommething. The gym and any other form of working out were made off-limits to her. These specifications are to Carolyns extreme annoyance, and she is often in a grumpy mood because of them. She dreads mealtimes and hates anything to do with food as much as she had a year ago.
