In a world called claymore there existed 8 great lords who controlled equal parts of the land. They were known as the great elemental lords, Light, Shadow, Water, Fire, Earth, Wind, Lightning, and Nature. Each with its unique abilities and secrets. It was only a matter of time though before some wished to expand their empire and gain more power and thus the first great elemental war was waged. It was one of the most horrific battles that nearly destroyed the planet of claymore and thus a truce was made and certain measures were taken to prevent another war.
A key was made, the keys purpose was that of all keys which was to unlock something. In time of another great war this key would unlock a great power that only the elemental lords understood. The key was placed in a child and the child represented balance and was gifted with abilities of each of the elemental lords. The child would not be allowed any powers of any element but its ability would be great. The child was hidden away in a village unaware of its destiny and the elemental lords left to a higher plane to look over its world but not interfere and empires formed and worshiped the elemental lords. The most powerful of the empires are water and shadow.
The shadow empire held some of the most horrible and powerful beings such as necromancers and almost invulnerable Obsidian Knights. The Waters abilities of water, mist, and ice make them a formidable opponent and a alliance between the two created a threat to all and an event that would set forth series of events that would lead to the next great elemental war. Light being small in numbers and mostly holy beings, healers, and seekers of peace were forced to leave there land and live among the other elemental powers for protection and their land was their first to be taken and the first place where the horrible power of the alliance called the 'Blackened Waters' was shown.
Those who did not flee were tortured and slaughtered and those who were lucky became slaves and not victims. Something had to be done and quickly. The remaining empowered empires Fire, Wind, Earth, and Lightning made a alliance of their own and the empires of light and nature were forced into hiding because of their size and vulnerability. The first few battles seemed to be in the favor of good and the Blackened Waters were driven back. But soon after their true power was revealed when the full moon rose for 2 months straight known as the lunar nova the powers of water and darkness grow unmeasurable and the Blackened Waters drove the empires of Fire, Wind, Earth, and Lightning back and split them up into nomadic militia.
The Lunar Nova has ended and the remaining forces have 4 months before the last one in 200 years occurs. The question remains are the forces strong enough to reform and fight back in time and will the 'key' be the one to unite them and restore balance? Which side will you fight on and Which side will win?
